Haiti
Haitians went to the polls on Sunday to elect a new president in a long-delayed election.
Its a major step for the country which has gone through a year of constitutional crisis as well as the devastating Hurricane in October.
First held in October 2015, the election was annulled over allegations of fraud, and a rescheduled vote was postponed last month when Hurricane Matthew struck.
4 polling stations could not be opened because of bad weather.
Official results are expected to be out on December 29.
A candidate is expected to obtain more than 50 percent of the vote to win.
if none of the candidates obtains 50 percent of the vote, a second round will be organised on the 29th of January 2017.
More than two dozen candidates were competing to succeed Michel Martelly, who left the presidency in February. Since then, a caretaker government has run the country
About 3,000 officers from the national police and the United Nations were mobilized to safeguard the election.
